SmackDown Results 09/20/13

SmackDown results from Cincinnati, OH:

After a recap of Night of Champions and RAW, Vickie Guerrero is in the ring to start things off.  She introduced Daniel Bryan and tried to get him to "come clean" about working with a referee at NOC to get a fast count for the title win.  Bryan says the truth is he kneed Orton in the head and knocked him out for what could've been a 20 count.  Vicke says she hopes Daniel is never the face of WWE.  She shows all of the wrestlers who came down to save D-Bryan on Raw.  She says Bryan and those 10 wrestlers will compete in an 11 on 3 gauntlet match.  Each person goes up against the shield, 1-on-3, until there are none left.  She said she'll leave Bryan for last in the match, then leaves the ring.

AJ defeated Naomi in a non-title match via submission.  Cameron was at ringside while Natalya was on commentary for the match.

Ryback defeated a local wrestler via pinfall.  He came out to the ring with Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel before the match (against a local wrestler named Nick).  Heyman talked about how he is better than CM Punk, and called Ryback his hero.  Ryback said Punk is a bully and he doesn't like bullies.  He said "Nick" tries to intimidate little kids, and Ryback told Nick to try to intimidate him.  Ryback then squashed the guy in the match.

Randy Orton came to the ring and talked about how Daniel Bryan and referee Scott Armstrong "conspired" to take the WWE title away from him.  Orton takes the blame for what happened, saying he thought the fans wanted him to be more like John Cena, so he locked "The Viper" away.  He said he brought The Viper back on Raw and sent a message using The Miz as an example so everyone will know who he really and truly is.  They showed the recap from Raw.  Orton said that will stand as a warning to anyone trying to get in his way.  He said at Battleground next month, the war between he and Bryan will end, and Orton will be WWE champion again.

The Shield arrived out for their 11-on-3 Gauntlet Match.  First up, they defeated Darren Young via pinfall.  Next up, was Titus O'Neil, who fought them off for a bit, but was ultimately defeated.  Dolph Ziggler was next and got overpowered, then started to make a comeback fighting each guy off.  Ziggler got counted out after getting hit by a Spear from Roman Reigns.  Kofi Kingston came out and managed to avoid Reigns up on the ramp.  Kofi then took out Rollins and Ambrose with a series of dropkicks.  Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise on Reigns, but the pin got broken up.  Dean Ambrose eventually hit his finisher and picked up the pinfall win.

Rob Van Dam came out as their next opponent with Reigns still down.  RVD hit a double Rolling Thunder move on Ambrose and Rollins.  He set up for the Five Star Frogsplash but suddenly Triple H's music came on and the WWE COO came out.  HHH called the match off, with Vickie and he arguing at ringside.  HHH sent everyone backstage before Smackdown went to break.

After break, HHH was shown backstage yelling at Vickie for the Gauntlet Match.  She thought it was best for business.  HHH tells her to make a six-man tag match with Daniel Bryan and The Usos vs. The Shield.

Backstage, Triple H spoke with Zack Ryder and Justin Gabriel calling them "talented."  He says he knows they want competition so he'll find them some.  He sent them out for a match.

Luke Harper & Erick Rowan defeated Justin Gabriel & Zack Ryder via pinfall.  Bray Wyatt was ringside for the match, and post-match he attacked Zack Ryder.  Bray said he is going to continue taking people out "for Abigail."

Backstage, Triple H walked in and apologized to Rob Van Dam for Vickie putting him into the Gauntlet Match.  He says RVD can have a rematch against Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Title.  Just then, Del Rio runs in and attacks RVD, leaving him laying on the floor.

Alberto Del Rio defeated R-Truth via submission in a non-title match.  Del Rio won using the cross armbreaker submission hold.

Daniel Bryan & The Usos defeated The Shield via pinfall.  Bryan had the Yes Lock on Ambrose late, but Ambrose managed to get to the ropes.  Bryan comes back and hits the knees to Ambrose to collect the pinfall win.  It was reported that post-match, Randy Orton had a run down to the ring to attack Bryan, with Bryan eventually clearing him out of the ring, sending Orton back up the ramp and backstage.
